Frédéric Neema is an award-winning photographer based in the San Francisco Area.

Frédéric's career started in Paris in 1983. He was a student, majoring in Animal Biology with an interest in photography. The interest became a passion after Frédéric viewed a movie, "Circle of Deceit" by German director Volker Schlondorff, about a war photographer. He was convinced that he had found his passion and one month later, he joined a photo agency.
Two years later, after covering national news in France for Sipa Press, he was in Lebanon covering the war as a staff photographer for Reuters News Agency. From 1985 to1991, Frédéric covered all the major stories and conflicts in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. He traveled extensively, creating images that were published daily, worldwide.
After seven years of covering conflicts and traveling continuously, Frédéric decided to settle in Cairo, Egypt, a city he fell in love with. He joined Sygma and continued to see his images in international magazines.

In 1998, Frédéric moved to the U.S and continued to cover stories for Sygma until the agency was acquired by Corbis.

May 2002 , Frédéric joined Gamma , the last major photo agency with a vision and a passion.
