Stephanie McDaniel, Aquarist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, feed the animals in the Outer Bay Exhibit before trying to feed the Great White Shark with a pole. The Monterey Bay Aquarium put a female Great White Shark on exhibit in a million-gallon aquarium on September 14, 2004, three weeks after she was inadvertently caught in a commercial fishing net off Huntington Beach in Southern California. There are no other Great White Sharks on display in the world today, and no aquarium has ever exhibited a Great White Shark for more than 16 days.
