Dolores Keterson rearranges the pair of boots that commemorates her soldier son, Woi Erik Kesterson, who died in Iraq on 11/25/2003. These boots were among 1,525 pairs of boots on display in front of the City Hall in San Francisco on March 26, 2005, to commemorate each US soldier who died in the Iraq war. Eyes Wide Open, the American Friends Service Committee’s exhibition on the human cost of the Iraq War, features a pair of boots honoring each U.S. military casualty from the war in Iraq.
