More than 1800 dwarves gathered at the annual convention of the Little People of America (LPA) in Burlingame, CA, for a week of workshops, seminars, sports, parties and sightseeing. The gathering was also an opportunity to forge friendships, meet potential spouses and escape the stares and whispers of the average-size world. Little People of America (LPA) is a nonprofit organization that provides support and information to people of short stature and their families. Dwarfism is usually defined as a medical or genetic condition that results in an adult height of 4'10" (125 cms) or shorter.
