The left part of the hill did not collapse because a reinforcement work performed in 2001, including using a large metal net. Heavy rain set off a serious landslide of rocks and boulders in a section of Telegraph Hill in San Francisco on February 27, 2007. Seven buildings were severely damaged in the landslide, displacing about 120 people.
